Project Objectives

Objectives

To produce and publish a VMware image of SIP Express Bundle under Centos 5

• with minimal or no configuration required by the end user
• with fully scripted construction and publication of the VMWare image, SIP Express Bundle and Centos 5 subset
• with capability of reliable operation as a production system

Secondary Objectives

• To publish software and processes that can be used to install SIP Express Bundle on non-VMWare Centos 5 systems.

Tertiary Objectives

• To publish an absolutely minimal VMWare image that can boot and load additional software including SIP Express Bundle.
• To publish software and processes to prepare SIP Express Bundle/Centos 5 as Live CD / Live USB.

Additional Constraints

• All software published should be as small as possible so as to minimise download time/cost.
• The end system(s) produced should have increased security by minimisation of software components and/or by use of integral firewall.

Target Group

• Newcomers to iptel.org who want to evaluate and then quickly get going

• Administrators of small-scale systems (i.e. non-service providers), for example enterprises, organizations, schools, colleges etc

Non-Goals

• A production environment suitable for large-scale subscriber systems
• An environment suitable for developers and tinkerers

• The system is dependent on what exactly SIP Express Bundle is. This is TBA
